Leadership Compass was shaped from the leadership experiences of its creator, Dr. Audrey Prestonsoto. Although Dr. Prestonsoto has served in various leadership roles throughout her career, some of the most challenging but rewarding experiences were those held while serving in the Armed Forces.
In one of those leadership roles, Dr. Prestonsoto led the largest branch in an organization that was responsible for managing five of the ten most critical occupational specialties. Coupled with this stressful and high visibility position, she also had to develop a leadership plan that would instill pride, professionalism, and trust in the employees.
Through clear communication, training, and an awareness of how her leadership style and emotional intelligence affected her interactions with the employees, Dr. Prestonsoto was extremely successful in creating an organization of employees who developed a deep sense of commitment and who were high performers.
The members of the organization honored Dr. Prestonsoto by presenting her with a memento for the leadership she exemplified during her tenure; a silver plated briefcase identification tag with the inscription "You were our calming voice and professional compass". It was those words that confirmed her dream to form a company in which she could share her leadership knowledge and experiences with other leaders and employees of organizations.
Leading by example is the passion and cornerstone in which the vision of this company became a reality.
